Wamendag Sebut Metaverse Dorong Peningkatan Sektor Perdagangan Digital

WAKIL Menteri Perdagangan (Wamendag) Jerry Sambuaga menyampaikan, di tengah meningkatnya sektor digital trade (perdagangan digital) serta revolusi industri 4.0, metaverse merupakan salah satu teknologi yang perlu diantisipasi untuk dapat dimanfaatkan secara maksimal. Metaverse memberikan pengalaman yang berbeda serta mendorong tumbuhya sisi bisnis baru.

Hal tersebut disampaikan Jerry dalam webinar Dialogue Series ke-3 dengan tema Metaverse: Pemahaman dan Manfaatnya bagi Perdagangan yang diselenggarakan Badan Pengkajian dan Pengembangan Perdagangan (BPPP) Kementerian Perdagangan, Kamis (17/2).

“Metaverse tidak hanya menjadi suatu wahana baru yang dapat dialami di dunia maya, tapi juga memberikan nilai ekonomi yang besar dalam menciptakan ekonomi baru di tengah masyarakat,” jelas Jerry.

Menurutnya, peningkatan konsumen digital selama pandemi covid-19 pada 2020 hingga paruh pertama 2021 mencapai 21 juta pengguna baru. Para konsumen digital diprediksi akan menetap dalam menggunakan layanan digital dan diperkirakan tingkat kepuasan layanan mencapai 87% di seluruh sektor.

Saat ini, lanjut Jerry, banyak kegiatan perdagangan yang tidak dapat lepas dari penggunaan teknologi metaverse, antara lain promosi dan pameran (virtual expo). Selain itu, hal tersebut berkembang lagi dengan diperkenalkannya teknologi virtual reality (VR) dan augmented reality (AR). Bahkan, keberadaan teknologi lain, seperti blockchain, aset kripto, dan non fungible token (NFT) turut memfasilitasi perdagangan di dalam metaverse.

Jerry menjelaskan saat ini Indonesia memegang posisi Presidensi G20 2022 dengan mengangkat tema Recover Together, Recover Stronger. Topik terkait dengan digitalisasi, salah satunya, juga ikut menjadi isu yang dibahas pada G20 Trade, Investment, and Industry Working Group (TIIWG). Isu yang dibahas, antara lain stronger SDGs for robust global economic recovery through inclusive trade, sustainable investment and industry, dan digital trade and sustainable GVCs.

“Kami berharap dialog ini menjadi sarana literasi publik terkait dengan perkembangan metaverse di Indonesia sehingga dapat memberikan manfaat bagi ekosistem perdagangan di Indonesia dan mengangkat sektor perdagangan Indonesia, khususnya pada level usaha mikro dan kecil, di masa mendatang,” pungkasnya.
