KECELAKAAN maut melibatkan truk kontainer terjadi di dekat Terminal Kalijaya, Jalan Raya Fatahillah, Cikarang Barat, Kabupaten Bekasi. Truk kontainer yang dikemudikan pria inisial DW ini menabrak 2 orang pemulung di lokasi, satu di antaranya tewas.
“Iya info dari anggota seperti itu. Jadi, kendaraan menabrak pemulung di pinggir jalan yang lagi mungutin barang-barang bekas,” kata Kasubdit Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Argo Wiyono saat dihubungi, Selasa (28/12).
Peristiwa itu terjadi pada pukul 07.15 WIB. Seorang pemulung inisial S meninggal dunia akibat kecelakaan tersebut. Sementara itu, 1 korban lainnya berinisial PN masih selamat kini dibawa ke RS Bhakti Husada.
AKBP Argo mengatakan peristiwa nahas itu bermula saat truk kontainer dengan nomor polisi B 9143 TEI ini tengah melaju dari Jakarta ke Cikarang. Namun, setibanya di lokasi, sopir truk kehilangan kendali. Truk itu menabrak pohon hingga bagian kiri mobil membentur 2 pemulung yang berada di lokasi. Kecelakaan itu diduga akibat sopir truk kontainer berinisial DW mengantuk.
“Setibanya di lokasi kejadian, diduga sopir mengantuk sehingga kendaraan tersebut oleng ke kiri menabrak pohon, kemudian bagian samping kiri kendaraannya membentur pejalan kaki, PN dan S, yang saat itu sedang berjalan di sisi kiri jalan,” jelas AKBP Argo.
“Akibat dari kejadian kecelakaan lalu lintas tersebut, pejalan kaki PN mengalami luka-luka dan dibawa ke RS Bhakti Husada, sedangkan pejalan kaki S meninggal dunia di lokasi kejadian,” tambahnya.
Kini, sopir truk tersebut dibawa ke Satlantas Polres Metro Bekasi untuk jalani pemeriksaan.
