MENTERI Agama (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas kembali menegaskan rencananya untuk menghadirkan 2 tokoh agama dunia, yaitu Grand Syeikh Al-Azhar Ahmed Al-Tayeb dan Pimpinan Gereja Katolik di Vatikan Paus Fransiskus. Penegasan ini disampaikan Menag saat memberikan pembinaan pada ASN Kementerian Agama di Jakarta, Rabu (9/3).
“Selain Paus Fransiskus, saya bersama tim tengah berusaha mengundang Grand Syekh Al-Azhar untuk bisa hadir ke Indonesia,” terang Menag.
Menurutnya, Grand Syekh Al-Azhar Ahmed Al Tayeb dan Paus Fransiskus merupakan 2 tokoh penting yang terus mengupayakan perdamaian dunia. Keduanya pada 2019 di Abu Dhabi, Uni Emirat Arab, telah mendeklarasikan Piagam Persaudaraan Manusia untuk Perdamaian dan Hidup Berdampingan.
Salah satu poin pokok deklarasi ini, kata Menag, ialah mengajak umat manusia untuk hidup bersama dalam semangat persaudaraan dan menjadikan agama sebagai inspirasi.
“Saya ingin mengundang 2 tokoh mulia ini hadir ke Indonesia untuk menyaksikan bahwa apa yang pernah dideklarasikan di Abu Dhabi itu sudah lama dilaksanakan di Indonesia. Bahkan, mungkin sejak Indonesia ini belum berdiri,” tegasnya.
Kepada jajarannya dan seluruh masyarakat Indonesia, ia memohon doa dan dukungan agar kesempatan menghadirkan 2 tokoh dunia ini bisa segera datang.
“Ini tentu akan menjadi kebahagiaan buat kita semua. Dua tokoh agama besar di dunia bisa bertemu di Indonesia yang dikenal memiliki keragaman, baik agama, budaya, suku, maupun etnis,” harapnya. (RLS/J1)
