KADIV Propam Polri Irjen Ferdy Sambo memaparkan strategi mencegah penyalahgunaan senjata api (senpi) oleh personel. Sambo mengatakan izin senpi polisi yang memiliki masalah keluarga harus dicabut.
“Apabila ada anggota yang memegang senjata api kemudian bermasalah dengan keluarga, dengan lingkungannya, segera dicabut pada kesempatan pertama sehingga tidak berdampak pada intitusi nantinya,” ujar Sambo dikutip dari Instagram @divpropampolri, Kamis (17/2).
Ia melanjutkan pihaknya akan memeriksa izin pinjam senpi secara rutin. Propam juga akan meningkatkan kompetensi personel dalam penggunaan senpi.
“Beberapa hal yang perlu kami sampaikan bahwa seluruh anggota Polri yang menggunakan atau meminjam senjata api dinas itu memahami betul prinsip-prinsip penggunaan kekuatan kepolisian,” tuturnya.
Sambo menegaskan pihaknya akan menindak tegas anggota kepolisian yang menyalahi aturan penggunaan senpi. Ia tak ingin pelanggaran penggunaan senpi terulang.
“Kami akan melakukan penindakan tegas dan keras sampai dengan tingkat pengawasan lapangan apabila ada pelanggaran-pelanggaran yang masih terjadi lagi terkait dengan penggunaan kekuatan yang tidak sesuai prosedur,” ucapnya.
“Jangan ada lagi kejadian Kendari, kejadian di Parigi yang melakukan penembakan semua anggota berpakaian preman,” lanjutnya.
Ia menjelaskan atasan harus bertanggung jawab apabila ada personel yang menyalahgunakan senpi. Menurutnya, kapolres hingga kasat di kepolisian setempat ikut bertanggung jawab.
“Nah, bukan lagi anggota yang salah ini, harus kasatnya yang bertanggung jawab, kapolresnya bertanggung jawab,” tuturnya. (RLS/J1)
