POLSEK Metro Menteng membekuk pelaku terduga pencuri batang besi trotoar di Jalan Pangeran Diponegoro, Menteng, Jakarta Pusat. Penangkapan terhadap tersangka pencuri besi bernama David, 34, berawal dari video yang beredar pada 3 hari sebelumnya.
Kanit Reskrim Polsek Metro Menteng Kompol Alvin Pratama mengatakan anggotanya berhasil menangkap David setelah berhasil mencuri batang besi trotoar yang menjadi properti milik Pemprov DKI Jakarta tersebut.
“Anggota menangkap tersangka di lokasi sesaat setelah berhasil memotong batang besi tersebut pada Sabtu (8/1),” kata Kompol Alvin di Jakarta, Senin (10/1).
Sebanyak 4 potong besi trotoar diamankan polisi sebagai barang bukti.
Penangkapan terhadap tersangka pencuri besi tersebut berawal dari video yang beredar pada 3 hari sebelumnya.
Dalam video tersebut, warga yang tengah mengendarai mobil melihat sekelompok pria dengan 1 sepeda motor sedang memotong besi trotoar.
Petugas pun langsung melakukan patroli dan berhasil menangkap tersangka. Namun, tersangka yang diamankan berbeda dari video yang beredar.
Anggota berhasil menangkap tersangka saat hendak membawa batang besi tersebut menggunakan bajaj. Petugas pun langsung melakukan penangkapan dengan barang bukti batang besi.
“Kalau ini, tersangka beda dengan video yang beredar, tapi cara beraksinya hampir sama. Kita masih dalami apakah ini tersangka 1 komplotan di dalam video yang beredar,” kata Kompol Alvin.
Akibat perbuatannya, tersangka dijerat Pasal 363 KUHP sub Pasal 362 tentang Pencurian dengan ancaman hukuman 5 tahun kurungan penjara. (RLS/J1)
