PRESIDEN Joko Widodo (Jokowi) mengapresiasi kualitas sumber daya manusia (SDM) Indonesia yang memiliki kualifikasi dan mampu bersaing di tingkat global dalam memproduksi mobil untuk ekspor. Apresiasi tersebut disampaikan saat ia meninjau pencapaian produksi ekspor PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia yang telah mencatatkan volume sebesar 2 juta unit mobil secara kumulatif.

“Saya sangat menghargai, sangat mengapresiasi, karena apa pun tadi kita sudah melihat produknya, Fortuner, selain produk-produk yang lain. Ini dihasilkan SDM-SDM Indonesia yang memiliki kualifikasi yang sangat baik untuk produk ekspor,” ujar Jokowi dalam sambutannya selepas meninjau kegiatan produksi di PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia, Kabupaten Karawang, Provinsi Jawa Barat, Selasa (15/2).

Ia memandang bahwa produk ekspor yang dihasilkan produsen di Indonesia akan bersaing juga dengan yang lain dari negara-negara produsen mobil. Menurutnya, konsumen akan memilih suatu produk jika memiliki kualitas dan kualifikasi yang baik juga.

“Ini membuktikan bahwa SDM-SDM Indonesia memiliki kualifikasi yang baik dalam memproduksi mobil. Sangat teliti, sangat cermat, sangat hati-hati, karena ini menyangkut keselamatan orang,” imbuhnya dalam keterangan resmi.

Selain itu, Jokowi juga mengapresiasi upaya Menteri Perindustrian Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita yang terus mendorong ekspor mobil ke hampir 80 negara di 4 benua. Ia juga senang karena tingkat kandungan dalam negeri (TKDN) produk mobil yang dihasilkan Toyota telah mencapai lebih dari 75%.

“Saya senang juga bahwa kandungan lokalnya, TKDN-nya, sudah lebih dari 75% local purchase-nya. Banyak komponen, banyak spare part, juga aksesori-aksesori yang ada di dalam mobil itu disuplai dari industri-industri UKM kita. Ini juga sangat baik untuk menghidupkan usaha-usaha kecil yang ada di negara kita,” jelasnya.

Pada kesempatan tersebut, Jokowi juga secara simbolis melepas ekspor perdana mobil Toyota Fortuner ke Australia dengan mengibarkan bendera start. Ekspor ke Australia ini, menurut Jokowi, merupakan langkah PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia mengambil peluang di tengah pandemi covid-19.

“Pandemi juga membuka untuk kita bisa mengambil peluang dan kesempatan yang ada, baik itu mengambil pasar-pasar baru. Yang peluang itu hari ini telah terbukti diambil kesempatan tersebut dengan baik oleh PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing dengan ekspor perdananya ke Australia,” tandasnya.

Sementara itu, dalam laporan Menteri Perindustrian Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, industri pengolahan nonmigas mencatat pertumbuhan 3,67% sepanjang 2021, lebih tinggi jika dibandingkan dengan 2020 yang kontraksi minus 2,52% akibat pandemi. Secara khusus, industri otomotif tumbuh luar biasa pada 2021, mencapai pertumbuhan 2 digit, 17,82%.

“Industri otomotif nasional saat ini di Indonesia ada 21 perusahaan, Bapak, yang kapasitas produksinya 2,35 juta unit per tahun. Penyerapan tenaga kerjanya juga cukup tinggi yang langsung maupun tidak langsung sekitar 1,5 juta tenaga kerja di sepanjang mata rantai bidang industri,” ujar Agus.
